if you are doing metal detetion you want to look at ICP or AA for identification, and ICP-MS can tell you concentration if you do a calibration curve.

You will need to do some type of acid digestion on the melon.

The Na will be the hardest because the levels will most likely be too high for the ICP-MS which may require major dilution which will decrease your accuracy.
