Help making an experiment
«

So, for my chemistry assignment I have to write an experiment that will prove or disprove an acid myth. Mine is that an object will dissolve faster in coke than it will in orange juice.
So I decided for my experiment that I'm just gonna dissolve marble chips in both liquids and see which one dissolves faster. The problem I'm having though is knowing the ratio of marble chips to liquid. Is there a calculation I can use to find this.
Thank you.

Marble may not be the best option since it is made of calcium carbonate, and the acid of carbonate - carbonic acid, is what is mostly found in coke.. also phosphates of calcium are not soluble, nor is the salt of citric acid .. and possible the calcium ascorbic wouldn't be soluble either.
Why not just titrate it with a weak base until neutral? I.e an ammonia solution.
This way you can find out which has the most acid - or you could test the pH of each... or use a reactive-ish metal, such as zinc or iron and then measure the mass from before and then after.

Ok I think I will go with the zinc or iron because I have already used the pH the explain why I think the myth is true or false.
Thank you so much. This has really helped me out.
