is burning gas in a car endothermic....my understanding is it requires energy to burn gas therefore it is endothermic

and is burning a log inn a fireplace the same thing?

i am a little confused to exo vs. endo..

thank you

endothermic- a chemical reaction that absorbs heat (HEAT IS A REACTANT)

Zn + SO+ (10KJ )= ZnSO

exothermic- a reaction liberates (gives off) heat (HEAT IS A PRODUCT)

Zn + SO= ZnSO + (10 KJ)

When burning gas heat is a product, therefore exothermic.
But simultaneously, "the liberated energy or heat does the work of moving the automobile."

Solution:- Hello,

It may be noted that depending upon the evolution or absorption of heat or energy, the chemical reactions can be classsified into two types:-

1. Exothermic reactions.

2. Endothermic reactions.

The chemical reactions which occur with  the evolution of heat are called as exothermic reactions. these reactyions proceede with the evolution of heat.

Reactants ----------->   Products + heat.

and,

The chemical reactions which occur with the absorption of heat are called as Endothermic reactions. these reactions proceede with the absorption of heat.

Reactants -----------? Products - Heat

or ,   Reactants + Heat ---------------->  Products.

well i think now it should be very clear.
