Give the values for n, l, and m_l  for each orbital in the 2 p subshell,
Enter your answer as sets of values of n, l, and m_l for different orbitals separated by commas. Separate values within each set by semicolons. Enter your answers in order of increasing n, then in order of increasing l, and then in order of increasing m_l.

I was doing this for online chem homework and just could not comprehend what exactly it wanted me to do! I know that 2p subshells have: l=1, m_1=1,0,-1, and n=3. Please help me =].

2p orbitals have n=2 (this represents the shell), l=1(this represents a p orbital) and m= -1,0 and 1 to represent the three possible orientations in space - often called px, py and pz in diagrams)

I don't think the value of n will change for 2p orbitals so I am not sure what it means by expressing the answers in terms of increasing n

n=2, l=1, m= -1;n=2, l=1, m= 0;n=2, l=1, m= +1 is what I would have done???
