Heating a 6.862 g sample of an ore containing a metal sulfide in excess oxygen produces 1053 ml of SO2 gas measured at 66 degrees C and 739 mmHg.  Calculate the percentage by mass of sulfur in the ore.

Not current with my industrial chemistry.

You need to use the Ideal gas equation to calculate the moles of S:
                  PV = nRT rearranged to give n = RT/PV
(make sure that your units for R and your volume, pressure, and temperature units are compatible.)

The moles of SO2 will be the same as the moles of S in the ore.

Convert moles of S to mass using the molar mass of S (32 g/mol).

Percent = mass of the S / mass of the ore   x 100
