Kinetics True/False.. Which are wrong, and why?
True: Exothermic reactions are always faster than endothermic reactions.
True: Reaction rates generally increase if the temperature is increased.
True: The rate of a reaction usually changes if the concentration of the reactants are changed.
False: The rate depends upon the energy of activation.
True: The energy of activation is always greater for the reverse reaction

True: Exothermic reactions are always faster than endothermic reactions. No, it depends on activation energy. I know one endothermic reaction that occurs spontaneously.
True: Reaction rates generally increase if the temperature is increased. Yes, kinetic energy is greater and collisions are more effective
True: The rate of a reaction usually changes if the concentration of the reactants are changed. Yes - increased chances of collision and collisions are needed for a reaction.
False: The rate depends upon the energy of activation. True (I think). Unless there is sufficient activation, there will be no reaction and so no rate of reactions.
True: The energy of activation is always greater for the reverse reaction - False. It is true for an exothermic reaction but not for an endothermic reaction.
